Three Services, Each Designed for a Distinct Need

Our advisory work falls into three specific areas — each developed in response to gaps we observed in what was available to families in Sarawak. Below you will find a full description of each, including how the service works, what it costs, and who it is best suited for.

Our Methodology

How We Approach Every Engagement

1

Initial Consultation

We listen carefully to your situation, ask clarifying questions, and develop a clear picture of the relevant facts before offering any direction.

2

Written Analysis

Following the session, you receive a written summary covering the legal position, the options available, and the realistic implications of each path.

3

Engagement Plan

If you wish to proceed, we agree on a clear plan — scope, timeline, fees — before any further work begins. No surprises.

4

Ongoing Advisory

We remain in regular communication throughout the matter, updating you promptly when circumstances change and maintaining a written record of all key developments.

Service One

Couples Counselling-Adjacent Legal Advisory

A measured, supportive advisory service for couples engaged in counselling who wish to understand the legal implications of the choices they are considering — separation, reconciliation under agreed terms, or restructuring of property arrangements.

The advisor coordinates respectfully with the couple's counsellor where appropriate, and provides written summaries the couple can take into their continued conversations. The aim is to ensure that legal clarity is available without the legal process dominating or disrupting the counselling work.

  • Coordination with the couple's counsellor, where consent is given
  • Written summaries provided for both parties after each session
  • Property arrangement structuring and review
  • Legal implications of separation or reconciliation terms clearly explained
  • No pressure toward any particular outcome — information only

Suitable if:

You and your partner are working with a counsellor and want access to clear legal information about your options — without that information becoming the driver of the conversations you are already having.

Custody order enforcement

Suitable if:

An existing custody or access arrangement is not being respected, and you have already attempted to resolve the matter directly without success. We can assess whether formal enforcement is the appropriate next step and what it would involve.

Service Two

Custody Order Enforcement

Representation in matters where existing custody orders have not been complied with, including applications for enforcement and contempt proceedings where necessary. The advisor prepares submissions, attends hearings, and works to resolve compliance issues with the least possible disruption to the child or children at the centre of the matter.

Care is taken to maintain civil communication with the other parent throughout. We approach enforcement matters with the aim of achieving compliance — not escalating conflict — and we will advise honestly where a different approach is likely to produce a better outcome.

  • Assessment of the existing order and the nature of the non-compliance
  • Preparation of enforcement applications and supporting submissions
  • Attendance at court hearings
  • Contempt proceedings where appropriate and necessary
  • Child-centred approach maintained throughout

Service Three

Estate-Linked Family Counsel

Advisory work for families managing the intersection of family law matters and estate planning — including remarriage with adult children from prior relationships, blended-family inheritance considerations, and protection of long-term spousal interests within a wider estate plan.

The advisor coordinates with the family's other legal and financial advisors where relevant, ensuring that the arrangements made in one area do not create unintended complications in another. This is an area where early, careful planning can prevent significant difficulty later.

  • Remarriage planning with adult children from prior relationships
  • Blended-family inheritance structuring
  • Long-term spousal interest protection
  • Coordination with financial planners and estate solicitors
  • Written advisory summaries for use in wider estate planning
